The International Medical University (IMU) Library was established in 1993 to cater for the needs of students and academics of the university. Currently IMU has five libraries in Bukit Jalil and in the clinical schools in Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Batu Pahat and Kluang.
A concept of collaborative and private areas was introduced when the library moved to the new footprint in mid-2008. The Collaborative Study Area is designated for supporting learning activities that are best done in groups. This is to support problem-based learning, inter-professional education and peer learning among others. The Private Study Area is designated for private study singly, or in groups in the provided group discussion enclosed areas.
As of March 2018, the library provides access to a digital library of 210,592 titles of e-books (inclusive of Open Access titles), 70,507 titles of e-journals (inclusive of Open Access titles) and 36 databases which can be accessed by library users “anywhere, anytime” using any devices through the library portal. This collection is supplemented by a print collection of 42,313 books and 11 journals and multimedia resources.
